For more information

Folks, With the growing concerns for security including PC security, I have the following recommendations for you:

AD-Ware

Folks, here is a program I recommend highly. Did you wonder why you keep receiving garbage ads on your PC (also called SPAM). You probably have hundreds of data miners in your software. These little devils get information about you and send it to advertising agencies so they can direct traffic to you. Download a program (from www.download.com  ) called "AD-WARE". It does a deep search on your PC, finds "SPY WARE" and tells you where it is. Quarantine all the files then delete them. If you need to restore them use the Quarantine restoral. Best of all its FREE.

For PC Security I recommend Symantic Products. However if you are looking for a good FREE program (from www.download.com  ) try ZoneAlarm

Tired of bad search engines? Try  its free and it is really good.

Would you like to stop those annoying pop-ups FOR FREE? Go To www.download.com and download "Pop-Up Stopper 3.0" its free to try and it works.

DO NOT OPEN ANY SUSPICIOUS E-MAIL............. If you receive an e-mail that says something like "This is a really great site, try it". DON'T. Its probably a virus. You should use some secured E-Mail service.

Virus: A program that, when executed on your computer, infects others. A virus usually tricks you into starting it by appearing legitimate or it can exploit a weakness in a real program.

Trojan horse: A program that doesn't self-propagate. It may also trick you into starting it.

Worm: A program started by a twerp that propagates itself. Like last month's Slammer/Sapphire worm did.

Antivirus software. If you regularly update your virus definitions and run scans.

Firewall. There are two types of firewalls, hardware and software. A software firewall, like ZoneAlarm is good. A hardware firewall, like a router, is better. Both is best.

A program that spots Trojans. Most antivirus programs won't catch all Trojans. Try a program called the "Cleaner" ($29 at www.moosoft.com).

There are many services out there that allow you to download all sorts of programs for free. It is very dangerous to use these programs. To begin with most companies charge a license fee. If you are getting a free copy of say "Norton AntiVirus" it is probably illegal and you can be fined for using an unlicensed copy.

MOST IMPORTANT: Pay attention and be careful of ads that lure you into opening them when you do not know what to expect.
