SENIOR DRESS  CODE

Many of us "Old Folks" (those over 50, WAY over 50 or hovering near 50) are quite confused about how we should present ourselves. We're unsure about the kind of image we are projecting and whether or not we are correct as we try to conform to current fashions. Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be
avoided:

 1. A nose ring and bifocals
 2. Spiked hair and bald spots
 3. A pierced tongue and dentures
 4. Miniskirts and support hose
 5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads
 6. Speedo's and cellulite
 7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar
 8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor
 9.  Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge
10. Bikinis and liver spots
11. Short shorts and varicose veins
12.  Inline skates and a walker
And last, but not least  . . .
13. Thongs and Depends

Carolina Journal Exclusives Reports Released on NC Charter Schools

Evidence suggests families benefit from competition and choice By CJ Staff September 15, 2004. RALEIGH – Two reports released Tuesday by the North Carolina Education Alliance provide compelling new findings about the state’s diverse and growing charter school movement, suggesting that charter schools are meeting a previously unmet need in the state for educational options.

Political Action Committees

There are two types of Political Action Committees

Chapter 4 Political Committees and Chapter 5 Committees of Continuous Existence (CCE)

The differences between the two are that Political Committees may directly endorse and financially support Political Issues.   CCEs can only contribute to groups and organizations that can support political issues.

Another difference is that Political Committees must report every dollar contributed to the organization by listing the name, address, and profession of every single member and contributor.  CCEs can simply report that all their members contributed dues or assessments of $$$ each year without listing them by name.

Both Political Committees and CCEs must file annual, quarterly, and during election years, pre and post General Election reports.  If district Associations affiliate their CCEs with the FASA’s – CCE, FASA will do all the reporting for the affiliate.

Lanny Lancaster and Ted Kluttz both recently ran for political offices in Concord, NC. The CCBIA ran ˝ page ads in both the Independent Tribune and The Charlotte Observer supporting these candidates.

By my understanding this makes the CCBIA a PAC and I don't believe they registered with the North Carolina Election Board, nor did the two candidates claim the monies spent for the ads. Oops! Is someone in violation of the Federal law?
